Finer Opportunities for the Right Smartphones

Smartphones and the Internet have once again fueled the trend towards computer games. Children and teens spend 104 minutes a day playing digital games.

The Right Computer

The computer games industry has gained significantly more popularity in recent years. Not only Microsoft and Sony with their new Internet-enabled game consoles Xbox One and Play Station 4 ensured this. For years online games have also boomed, which are only played in a browser without the installation of software. In addition, gaming apps for smartphones and tablets, which are often used on the go, are also booming. Mobile devices and fast broadband Internet have made these new variants of gaming possible. Adults and especially children and adolescents spend more and more time playing computer games.

Perfect Survey

According to a survey, every second of 10- to 18-year-olds owns their own game console. Every day, this age group spends 104 minutes in front of a screen playing computer games. The older the adolescents are, the more likely they are: the 16- to 18-year-olds are just over two hours a day. Boys sit much longer in front of a gaming PC than girls. Computer and video games are just as popular with children and young people today as television is in the use of media in their free time, according to Expert.

Worrying is the number of frequent players as determined. According to the association, one-fifth of 16- to 18-year-olds are among the players who spend three hours or more a day using computers, consoles or smartphones. For the 13- to 15-year-olds, it is twelve percent. The Expert advises parents to keep an eye on the gaming behavior of their children and to pay attention to a variety of recreational activities beyond the computer.

The range of digital games for a variety of devices has been growing for years. In addition to classic computer games that are permanently installed on the PC, there are, among others, online games that run in the Internet browser, as well as games for stationary and mobile game consoles. In addition, more and more gaming apps for smartphones and tablets have come onto the market in recent years. Computer games are currently getting new impetus from the new generation of stationary consoles. According to the poll, 50 percent of 10- to 18-year-olds in Germany own a stationary console such as Play Station, Xbox or Wii U and 37 percent a mobile game console like Nintendo DS. A smartphone for the use of gaming apps in this age group even have 79 percent.

The easy accessibility and huge selection

It may have been more difficult to access online games in the past, but today there are no more problems here. The various game developers have quickly realized that it is particularly important that games are quick to call and easy to play. The result is obvious, as there is now an incredible selection of online games that are extremely accessible and even easier to play.

Even the sheer selection of games plays a big role in terms of popularity. While initially there were more one-sided choices, the various games today are so versatile that everyone will find something that suits their tastes. For example, there are games based on sports, puzzle games, card games, fantasy games, and much more, so that every genre is covered.
