Pettitte gets through first outing
Andy Pettitte labored through his initial Grapefruit League outing against the Yankees Wednesday. He allowed two runs and five hits in three innings. He threw 30 of 44 pitches for strikes. "Mechanically, it felt terrible the first inning. But it's the first spring start," Pettitte said. "I threw a bunch of sinkers that cut and they hit them. I was trying to throw two-seamers and they cut right to the heart of the plate. The last inning I threw I'm happy. I threw some decent curveballs the last inning and located a few pitchers there to the last batter."MLB Player News: CBSSports.com, Thu, 16 Mar 2006 19:28:48 +0100
