Marlins deal Jacobs to Royals 
The Marlins acquired right-handed pitcher Leo Nunez from the Royals in exchange for first baseman Mike Jacobs. Jacobs, 27, was acquired by the Marlins in a 2005 trade with the Mets. He hit .247 with 32 home runs and 93 RBI in 141 games last year as the Marlins became the first ML team ever to have all four infielders hit 25-or-more home runs. A Dominican Republic native, Nunez was originally signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2000 and traded to Kansas City in 2004. He has gone 9-7, 4.92 in 106 games, six starts, in his ML career since making his ML debut with the Royals in 2005, lowering his ERA in each of his four ML seasons.
