Power outage due to SERIOUS WEATHER. I ended up having to walk my parents through fscking like 6 partitions because they didn't come up clean. The only thing that's been initially noticed as lost was a couple spam messages. Yeah, I'm all broke up about that. I'll be back up in .ca next week so I'm gonna do a bunch of upgrades / moving shit around. I'm thinking most of this web presence will be done away with and the cool/useful stuff migrated to the city based caveman. Useful things probably mean the portal and the planet for those that know about it. Personal sites will not be touched and still be continued to be served. Oh you will get served, but with more data than fresh beats and dope moves.net - ronin . org, 2006-12-25 04:41:05

So.... I'm finally getting around to writing about the GF visit. It was good. We did a bunch of touristy things (surprise). We hit up the SF Museum of Modern Art since it's just a block away from me. I didn't really find anything that interesting except for the Michael Jackson and Bubbles statue. yeah. Then there was more random wandering around Union Square and Chinatown. WonderCon was happening that weekend too and since the GF had never had the 'joy' of being at a convention filled with large, smelly, comic-loving misanthropes we had to go. Go me for using 'misanthropes' in a sentence. It was small and we only visited the dealer's room as there weren't any interesting panels/showings on the day we went. We also hit up Japantown and the GF was quite excited about the cute-things-stores and the Kinokuniya's selection of origami books. There was the Chinatown New Year's parade on Saturday evening but due to someone (not me) taking an extra long nap we were unable to go and see it. On her last day here we went off to explore Golden Gate Park, which is large, and the ever so popular Haight/Ashbury area, which is filled with strange yelling people. Then she left and I was sad. The weekend after I had a visit from a friend in LA that I've not seen in years and years. It was also fun. She was staying in SJ so our visits were actually fairly brief saving her from the excrutiating task of actually hanging out with my boring ass for long periods of time. Then she left and I was still sad. I may toss some pics of these events up at sometime, unsure where/how i'll do it (heh Do It! now is playing as I type for you people in the know). The site needs a scrubbing/redesign. Suggestions might be solicited. werd.net - ronin . org, 2006-12-04 04:47:17

I've been on the Netflix think for about a month now and I'm liking it. I've received 6 movies so far but one of them was mislabeled. I'm on the one disc at a time plan Which really works for me cuz i'm the only person here so no need to argue about which to watch. The turn around time is about 2 days. One for them to get the returned disc and one more for me to receive the next one in my queue. The big plus I've found is that I'll add movies that I would never make the effort to see if I had to actually physically go to a store and look for them and rent them. Like Saving Private Ryan, I hadn't ever seen it and if I went to a rental store there'd always be something else that's more interesting to see. Not so with the flix, since there's no effort involved I just keep adding random crap and I'll eventually see it all. My current queue has 101 discs in it, though some of that is because of TV shows like LOST that are multiple disc sets that would get sent one by one. I declare this good. I'm thinking of getting a new watch it has that wide leather strap thing goin on which is a radical fashion step for me. comments? I saw Layer Cake last night (thanks to the netflix (shock!)). I declare it very good with an awesome ending. The main character drives around in an Audi station wagon and it looks really good. I'm afraid that watching Top Gear has somehow removed my hate of station wagon type vehicles and I'd almost consider getting one if I was actively looking for a car. very very weird. this post was made because my GF "yelled" at me to update. :(net - ronin . org, 2006-12-04 04:47:17

monthly update Affectez un tag à cette news
The monthly update begins now! Since last update I've seen a few movies. V for Vendetta. Good, a bit different from the comic but anything with Benny Hill music is a winner in my book. Inside Man. Good heist movie. Linda Linda Linda Wacky Japanese movie seen at film festival. High school girls form a band with three days before their school festival, but they have not a singer. They grab the Korean exchange student that knows very little Japanese. Hilarity ensues. The GF is now en-route to SF again now. I'm sad that the forcast is for rain and overcastness this weekend. net - ronin . org, 2006-12-04 04:47:17

post erica visit Affectez un tag à cette news
So the GF was here last weekend and there was fun to be had. We hit up more and different museums this time: The Asian Art Museum and the Science World-esque Exploratorium. I wasn't feeling too good on Friday and Saturday night so there was a bunch of just lazing at my place. The now-probably-required visit to Japantown and the Kinokuniya resulted in many many many minutes of origami/kirigami/etc book skimming in search of something to buy. We returned empty handed, but full of curry+rice since we stopped and ate at the On the Bridge restaurant also in the Japantown mall. Apparently I have been lax in updating this page (I'm as surprised as you are) as I didn't mention going to the Alternative Press Expo to get some books signed for the GF. I picked up her wanted items and had some cool independent comic artists sign the stuff she had mailed down to me. I also bought her Captain Gloomy. He didn't have a name when i purchased him but i think this one suits him well. She liked him very much. The last thing I purchased was a ring for her. No. not that ring. Just a regular ordinary ring for wearing. The one on the left in the picture, the non-pinky ring. And now for something completely different. It is hockey season and i'm far from home so I've decided to follow the lead of a friend of mine and do the non-shaving-while-my-team-(oilers)-are-still-in-the-playoffs thing. Instantly, a few of my longtime readers will think of THIS. But their opinions have no effect this time as they're far away and I no longer work with them. I'm also not as bad as Gabe. The other reason I feel i can do it this time is that the opinons of the people I now work with mean nothing to me (I mean that in the nicest way possible) so any mocking by them is ineffective and useless. I look forward to hearing from my favourite readers and being able to withstand their mean and cruel statements. net - ronin . org, 2006-12-04 04:47:17

I was quiet through the San Jose and Anaheim serieses (serii?) but I break my silence now. The GF is due to visit next weekend for a full week and I'll still be sporting the support. I forsee this going well. X-men: The Last Stand. Go see it. It's dark and dark and YOU HAVE TO STAY TO THE END OF THE CREDITS. All else I can say is that it needed a Stan Bush score so that it could be more like a movie from the past (trying not to spoilerize). I've been slacking on the email front and I have a queue of people I need to reply to, sorry if you're one of them. I'll get to it tonight while I do laundry and other domestic fun but now I must go head off to 24oz prime rib feast. too much meat.net - ronin . org, 2006-12-04 04:47:17
