I know that modeling agencies can't guarantee work for models. So, would it be inappropriate for me to ask an agent, to partially pay for my photos and comp card if I don't get work?HowToModel.com - Ask Aaron Acting and Commercial Modeling Advice Column, 2008-10-06 03:38:56

I am a subscriber of your newsletter and I am seriously considering moving to Los Angeles to break into the commercials/film industry (I am a writer/aspiring commercial actress). However, I am unique in that I am over 30 years old, but I look very, very young and I would like to work in commercials. No agent will not know old I am because they will not be able to tell, but I like being honest about my age. What is the situation like for someone over 30 to break into commercials? I know Hollywood is very discriminating when it comes to age. I would appreciate any advice you can give.HowToModel.com - Ask Aaron Acting and Commercial Modeling Advice Column, 2008-09-22 03:38:31

My agency has a casting for me this Thursday for one of the UK's tourist board. She has advised me of the fee minus the agency 20% commission, and there's a buyout of £1250. Could you explain to me what is a buyout? I could ask the agency, but I don't want to appear un-knowledgeable.HowToModel.com - Ask Aaron Acting and Commercial Modeling Advice Column, 2008-09-22 03:38:31

I have sent out my resume and headshot out to 3 agencies and the response I get is we have put your resume and headshot on file for a period of one year. As opportunities arise we will contact you. My question is should I keep sending postcards every month so they know that I am still interested or sooner than that? I have purchased your book and find it very informative. I work with different agents now and would like to increase my bookings. I will be sending my comp cards to ad agencies as you suggested. I have two questions for you. What should I say in my letter and should I give them my agents name and phone number or just work with them myself?HowToModel.com - Ask Aaron Acting and Commercial Modeling Advice Column, 2008-09-22 03:38:31

I just finished reading your book, and found it incredibly helpful. I'm especially interested in your advice about asking high school or college photography students about test shots for a comp card. What is the best method to go about this; how does one ask?HowToModel.com - Ask Aaron Acting and Commercial Modeling Advice Column, 2008-09-22 03:38:31

My question is regarding thank you notes after an audition, or a job that is booked. At what point in the process would you send thank you notes, and who would you suggest sending them to? What would you suggest I say in the message? Thanks!HowToModel.com - Ask Aaron Acting and Commercial Modeling Advice Column, 2008-09-22 03:38:31
