Configuring Entourage 2008 to Check OSU E-mail (POP or IMAP)
Start Entourage, go to the Tools menu, then Accounts. Click on the New button and choose Mail. Click Configure this account manually. Select POP or IMAP from the Account Type drop down menu and click OK. If using POP, enter the following: Account Name: e.x. ERROR: Updates were not applied because packages were not in the repository: VSCANCEU1000, EXTRADAT1000, BOCVSE__1000, VIRUSCAN The packages listed are optional packages that VirusScan looks for when updating. As these are optional, they may or may not exist in the repository at any give time. As long as the log notes that the update of the DAT version succeeded, the normal update process was successful. These files cannot be opened in older versions of Microsoft Office without first installing a Compatibility Pack. If you frequently save Microsoft Office 2007 files in the older format, such as Word 2003-97 (.doc), you can change the settings so that Word (or Excel or PowerPoint) saves in that file format by default. Check the box next to Manually configure server settings or additional server types on the Auto Account Setup and then click Next. Select Internet E-mail from the Choose E-mail Service window and click Next. The "Internet E-mail Settings (IMAP)" screen asks for the following information: Your name : Your name as you would like it to appear on email messages (ex. John Doe). Email address : Your OSU email address (ex. lastname.#@osu.edu). Account Type: Select IMAPfrom the drop down Menu. Incoming mail server(IMAP) : imap.service.ohio-state.edu Outgoing mail server(SMTP) : smtp.service.ohio-state.edu User name should already be filled in with your OSU Internet Username (ex. lastname.#). Located in the Science and Engineering Library, the Learning Collaboration Studio works in partnership with the Digital Union —- a hands-on multimedia lab which showcases emerging technologies and integrates technology solutions for learning and research. The LCS is a place to explore multiple teaching and learning methods, adapt to new learning needs, and create instructional innovations which can be used to improve the traditional learning environment. What can I do there? At the LCS you have the freedom to configure a learning environment with the layout and technology you need to experiment with new educational styles. The LCS allows you to: Reconfigure: Furniture at the LCS isn’t bolted down. All tables and chairs are on wheels making them easy to move into the configuration that you need. Computers in the LCS are laptops which can be used anywhere in the room, and can run either Windows Vista or Mac OS X. Collaborate: Use the Crestron control system and software that allows you to view what is on each participant’s computer screen. Project onto the large screens from any computer in the room. Use the two whiteboard walls for collaborative notetaking and brainstorming activities. Connect: Bring in a guest speaker from another location using a videoconferencing unit.
